How to install and activate Windows 11 Pro, Office 2024 Pro Plus, Visio and Project
This bundle carries four keys for one computer, one per component. Install in order: Windows 11 Pro from microsoft.com/software-download/windows11, then Office 2024 Professional Plus, then Visio 2024 and Project 2024, the last three from the links in your order email. Windows activates in Settings, System, Activation. The others activate inside their own app under File, Account.

Before you start
Four components, four chances to get the order wrong. Two rules matter: Windows first, and Visio and Project after Office, matching its bit version.
- Find all four keys in your order email. Windows 11 Pro, Office 2024 Professional Plus, Visio 2024 and Project 2024. None is interchangeable.
- Pick one computer. All four keys belong to the same PC, not four machines.
- Remove Microsoft 365 and older Office first. Settings, Apps, Installed apps. A leftover install blocks the new one and forces the wrong bit version.
- Decide 64-bit or 32-bit once. Visio and Project must match whatever Office installs as. 64-bit is the sensible default.
- Back up anything you cannot replace. A clean install erases the drive you select. An upgrade does not.

Download Windows 11, Office 2024, Visio and Project
Windows comes from Microsoft’s public page. Office 2024 Professional Plus, Visio 2024 and Project 2024 are volume editions, never offered there or at setup.office.com, so they come from the links in your order email or the Office Deployment Tool.
- Get Windows 11 first. Installation Assistant for an upgrade, Media Creation Tool for a USB stick, or the ISO.
- Open the three app links in your order email. One each for Office 2024, Visio 2024 and Project 2024. Save all three, run none yet.
- Note the bit version on each. They must all match. If a link offers a choice, pick 64-bit and keep to it.
- Skip setup.office.com. It only redeems Home and Business style keys and refuses all three.
If your email points at the Office Deployment Tool instead of direct installers, the configuration file we include names the right products and bit version. Reply to the order email if a link has expired.
Install in order: Windows, Office, then Visio and Project
The sequence is the trick. Office sets the bit version and the other two fall in behind it.
- Install or upgrade Windows 11. On Windows 10, run the Installation Assistant to keep files and apps. On Windows 11 Home, use Upgrade your edition of Windows. Clean installing, boot the USB and pick Windows 11 Pro.
- Run Windows Update, then restart. A fully patched PC avoids most installer errors later.
- Clear out any old Office. Settings, Apps, Installed apps. Remove Microsoft 365 trials and older Office, then restart.
- Install Office 2024 Professional Plus. Ten to twenty minutes with a progress window. Stay online throughout.
- Install Visio 2024, then Project 2024. One at a time, letting each finish first. Both sit alongside Office rather than replacing it.
If an installer stops with a 32-bit and 64-bit mismatch message, the app you are adding does not match the Office already installed. Remove it and reinstall in the same bit version.
Activate all four, each in its own place
Four keys, four activations. Windows is done in Settings, and each app is activated from inside itself.
- Activate Windows first. Settings, System, Activation, Change product key. Enter the Windows 11 Pro key and click Next.
- Activate Office in Word. Open Word, close any account prompt, then File, Account, Change Product Key. Enter the Office 2024 key and click Activate.
- Activate Visio in Visio. Open Visio, File, Account, Change Product Key, enter the Visio 2024 key. It does not inherit Office’s license.
- Activate Project in Project. Same route: File, Account, Change Product Key, Project 2024 key.
- Leave Excel and the rest alone. They take the Office license automatically once Word is activated.

Check that all four worked
Five looks and you are done.
- Settings, System, Activation. Reads Windows is activated with a digital license.
- Word, File, Account. Names Office Professional Plus 2024 and reads Product Activated.
- Visio, File, Account. Names Visio Professional 2024 and reads Product Activated.
- Project, File, Account. Names Project Professional 2024 and reads Product Activated.
- No yellow banners. Nothing about an unlicensed product across the top of any app.
Common errors and how to fix them

Visio or Project will not install next to Office
This is almost always a bit version clash: Office went on as 64-bit and the Visio or Project installer is 32-bit, or the other way round. Windows will not run two bit versions of the Office family side by side. Check Word, File, Account, About Word, which names the version. Remove the mismatched installer, get the matching one from your order email and install again.
0xC004C020: the activation limit has been reached
The volume licensing message, meaning that key activates by telephone rather than online. In the app itself, File, Account, Change Product Key, enter the key, then follow the wizard when it offers phone activation. You read an Installation ID to an automated line and type back the Confirmation ID. Our Confirmation ID guide covers it, and we will do the call with you.
30015-25 or 30038-25 during an install
Another Office-family product is in the way, usually a Microsoft 365 trial that shipped with the PC or a half-removed older Office. Open Settings, Apps, Installed apps, remove everything named Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Office, restart the computer, then run the installer again. The restart matters, because those files stay locked until the PC reboots. Send us the full error code if it still stops and we will send the removal tool.
Visio opens but says it is unlicensed
Visio keeps its own license and does not borrow Office’s, so activating Word does nothing for it. Open Visio itself, go to File, Account and use Change Product Key with the Visio 2024 key from your order email, not the Office key. The same applies to Project. If the right key is refused, tell us the order number and error.

Are these four keys for four computers?
No. It is one key per component for a single computer, so Windows 11 Pro, Office 2024 Professional Plus, Visio 2024 and Project 2024 all go on the same PC. Spreading them across machines is outside what the license covers and it causes trouble whenever one of those PCs is rebuilt. If you need a second machine covered, buy that component on its own: standalone Visio 2024 and Project 2024 licenses install exactly the same way, from the same kind of order-email link, and activate in the same place.
Do Visio and Project need Office installed first?
They do not strictly require it, but on this bundle you should install Office first anyway. Office decides the bit version of the whole Office family on that PC, and Visio and Project have to match it. Putting Visio on first and Office second is the quickest way to a mismatch error. Install Office 2024 Professional Plus, let it finish, then add Visio and then Project. Each keeps its own separate license and its own activation, so none of them covers another.
What if I already have Microsoft 365 on the PC?
Office 2024 Professional Plus and Microsoft 365 do not sit comfortably together, and installing one over the other usually breaks both. If you want to keep the subscription, contact us before you install anything and we will go through the options with you. If you are replacing the subscription, uninstall Microsoft 365 from Settings, Apps, Installed apps, restart the computer and then run the Office 2024 installer. Do I have to install Windows before the apps?
It is strongly advised. All three apps write themselves into the Windows installation, so installing them and then clean installing Windows means doing the lot again. If the PC already runs a properly activated Windows 11 Pro, go straight to the apps and keep the Windows key for the day you rebuild.
