How to download, install and activate Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024
Windows 11 LTSC media, specifically the IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 build, is not on Microsoft’s consumer download page. The ISO comes from the link in your OfficeGSM order email, or as a time-limited evaluation from Microsoft’s Evaluation Center, and an evaluation build has to be converted before your key is accepted. Install it, then enter the 25-character key in Settings, System, Activation. Allow an hour or so, because LTSC needs a clean install rather than an edition change.
| Official download | Link in your order email, or Microsoft’s Evaluation Center |
|---|---|
| Installer type | LTSC ISO, 64-bit, written to an 8 GB USB drive |
| Time needed | 45 to 90 minutes, clean install only |
| Activation | 25-character key in Settings > System > Activation |
| Evaluation media | Must be converted to the full edition before the key works |
| Works on | One device, 64-bit, with TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot turned on |
| Free help | Email every day, phone Mon–Fri 9am–6pm ET |
Before you start
LTSC is a different kind of Windows, and two things about it surprise people: the media is not on the consumer page, and there is no in-place edition change from Pro. Plan for a clean install.
- Have your key and download link open. Both are in your order email and in your account on our site.
- Back up the device first, because the only route to LTSC is a clean install that erases the disk.
- Check TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot with the PC Health Check app, and turn them on in the UEFI firmware if they are off.
- Note what winver reports if Windows is already installed, so we can tell you whether it is an evaluation build.
| Requirement | Minimum |
|---|---|
| Processor | 1 GHz or faster, 2 or more cores, 64-bit and on Microsoft’s list |
| Memory and storage | 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of free disk space |
| Firmware and security | UEFI with Secure Boot, and TPM version 2.0 |
| Graphics and display | DirectX 12 with a WDDM 2.0 driver, 9 inch screen at 720p |
| Edition change from Pro | Not supported. LTSC installs from its own media |
Get the Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 ISO
The consumer Windows 11 download page does not carry LTSC media, so there are two places to get it and your order email is the better one.
- Open your order email first. The download link sits beside your key, and it points at the media your key matches.
- Or use Microsoft’s Evaluation Center and look for the Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC release. That ISO is an evaluation, so read the note below first.
- Write the ISO to an 8 GB USB drive with Microsoft’s Media Creation Tool, Rufus or any tool you already trust.
- Email us if the link has expired. Send your order number to contact@officegsm.com and we will reissue it the same day.
An evaluation install will not accept your key until it has been converted to the full edition, which shows as 0xC004F069. The commands depend on the build, so send us a screenshot of winver and we will reply with the conversion steps for your version.
Install LTSC 2024 on the device
This is a clean install, so the disk is wiped. Everything else is the ordinary Windows routine, including the key prompt you can pass by.
- Boot from the USB drive, choosing it from the boot menu when the device starts.
- Accept the license terms, and setup checks the hardware. It stops here if TPM 2.0 or Secure Boot is off.
- Skip the key prompt. Choose “I don’t have a product key”, because the key goes in once Windows is running.
- Choose the drive carefully, because the partition you pick is erased, then let setup run through to the desktop.
LTSC has no yearly feature updates, so the desktop you see now is the one the device keeps. Security updates still arrive through Windows Update.
Activate Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024
Activation is one screen. Have the 25-character key from your OfficeGSM order email ready and put the device online for a moment.
- Open Activation settings. Press the Windows key, type Activation and open the result, or go to Settings, System, Activation.
- Check the edition first. It should name the LTSC edition. If it does not, the key will be refused.
- Click Change product key, then Change, and paste the key from your order email rather than typing it.
- Click Activate, then reopen the page and confirm it reads Activation state: Active.
Devices that stay off the network can be activated by phone. Press the Windows key and R, type slui 4 and follow our phone activation and Confirmation ID guide.
Check that it worked
Go back to Settings, System, Activation and compare the page with the list below. If all four match you are finished, and nothing expires.
- The edition names LTSC, with no evaluation wording beside it.
- Activation state says Active, with no countdown and no watermark in the corner.
- winver shows no expiry date, which is how you know the evaluation conversion worked.
- Windows Update offers security fixes only, with no feature update waiting.
Common errors and how to fix them
The messages our team sees most on LTSC devices, cause first and fix after. If yours is not here, send us a screenshot.
0xC004F069 – the key is refused on an evaluation build
The PC is running the time-limited evaluation from the Evaluation Center, and Windows will not take a normal key on it until the install has been converted to the full edition. Email contact@officegsm.com with a screenshot of winver and your order number, and we will send the conversion steps for your build. It runs from an administrator command prompt, takes a few minutes, and your files stay where they are.
0xC004F050 – “the product key entered did not work”
An LTSC key only activates an LTSC install, so this usually means the PC is running ordinary Windows 11 Pro or Enterprise. Check the edition on the Activation page: if it does not say LTSC, the key needs a clean install from the LTSC media rather than a Change product key. Copy the key from the order email as well, since one mistyped character gives the same message.
0xC004C003 – the key is blocked or already in use
Microsoft has flagged the key on their side, so nothing on the device will change it. Email a screenshot and your order number to contact@officegsm.com. We check the key with our supplier and send a replacement free of charge, usually the same day, and it goes into the same Change product key box. The 180-day money-back guarantee covers you the whole time.
0xC004F074 – Windows cannot reach the activation servers
The key is fine and the device could not talk to Microsoft, which is common on the locked-down networks these machines sit on. Check the date, time and time zone, turn off any VPN or proxy, and click Activate again. If the device is offline by design, activate it by phone: press the Windows key and R, type slui 4 and follow our Confirmation ID guide.
Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 download questions
Answered by the team that handles our tickets every day.
Where do I download Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024?
Not from Microsoft’s consumer Windows 11 page, which does not carry LTSC media at all. The ISO comes from the download link in your OfficeGSM order email, or as a time-limited evaluation from Microsoft’s Evaluation Center. If you take the evaluation route, the install has to be converted to the full edition before your key is accepted, and we will send you the commands for your build. Email contact@officegsm.com with your order number if the link in your email has expired.
What does LTSC mean, and how long is it supported?
LTSC stands for Long-Term Servicing Channel. The feature set is frozen at the 2024 release: no yearly feature updates arrive, nothing is added or moved, and only security and reliability fixes are delivered. Microsoft gives the IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 release a ten-year support window, far longer than the annual Windows 11 releases, and their lifecycle pages carry the exact dates. That is why it goes on machines that must behave identically for years, such as kiosks, point-of-sale terminals and lab equipment.
Can I change a Windows 11 Pro PC to IoT Enterprise LTSC in place?
No. LTSC is not one of the editions Windows will switch to from the Activation page, so a Change product key on a Pro machine is refused. Plan on a clean install from the LTSC media, and back up your files before you start. If keeping the current install matters more than the frozen feature set, a Windows 11 Enterprise key does change the edition in place from Pro, and our Windows 11 Pro guide covers that route.
Is LTSC a good choice for an everyday desktop PC?
Usually not, and we would rather say so before you buy. LTSC leaves out the consumer apps and holds back the yearly feature updates, which is exactly what a kiosk or an industrial device wants and exactly what most home users miss. New hardware and some modern apps also expect the current Windows 11 release. For a normal desktop, Windows 11 Pro is the better fit. Ask our team first and we will tell you honestly which one suits the machine.
